    October Gallery Walk – Bwa-ha-ha-ha!

Clean rivers and jewelry meet head-on! Rosie Shore is one of our newest jewelry makers and she has something different to share: much of her jewelry is made from river glass she has found in the French Broad River. Pretty cool, isn't it? Not only is her jewelry beautiful, it is really local AND it helps clean up the river! What more could you ask for? It ought to make you feel GOOD! Come on in and see what conservation-you-can wear looks like.

All Natural Jam is going to be jammin' with us to help you get your pumpkin on! Listen to them while you sip our October concoction, "Haunted Harvest Punch."

Super-Special September! (Gallery Walk, that is…)

Have we got a Gallery Walk for you! September is twice as nice because Hunters & Gatherers has twice the number of Featured Artists. Outside we’re going to celebrate the completion of our alley murals: Leanne Addison has brightened up the far end with colorful, whimsical flowers. At the near end Donya Jacobs and family have painted a nifty American Flag poster proudly proclaiming “Made in the USA.” The man in the middle, Billy Smith, will also be here to show everyone his design for the center of the alley. Go inside to sample the fabulous jellies made by Appalachian Harvest. Kimberly and Kevin Baldwin’s signature hot pepper jellies are paired with delectable fruits, such as the very popular “Hot Pepper Jelly with Blueberries.” If you feel guilty about consuming such decadent treats, pass the guilt on by giving them as gifts! (But of course, you MUST try them yourselves – just to make sure…) Naturally, we’ll have great music, and since Hogwarts is back in session, we thought you might be interested in trying this month’s concoction: “Harry Potter Grows Up.” Oh, we’re going to have fun at 40 West Main Street! Join the party September 27th between 5:00 pm and 9:00 pm.

    Happy Labor Day! It’s September!

Sunday: 10:00 am to 5:30 pm
Monday thru Wednesday: 10:00 am to 6:00 pm
Thursday: 10:00 am to 7:00 pm
Friday and Saturday: 10:00 am to 9:00 pm

The kids are in school, so come on in and shop!

We TRIED to give you the raspberry, but . . .

Our Gallery Walk concoction once again baffled most of the tasters. Some of you came close - well, no, you really didn't. The recipe is as follows:

40 oz. bottle of beer (not dark; cheap stuff works just fine)
    5 Cups lemonade
    1/2 Cup peach schnapps
    1/2 Cup raspberry schnapps

Mix, add ice and have fun!

    Better luck next month!

Hats, Caps & Stetsons Featured at August Gallery Walk!

Hats off to you!! Or maybe we should say, hats ON to you! Because Hunters & Gatherers has HATS! Cowboy hats, bike caps, coonskin caps, Civil War (or the War of Northern Aggression) caps and of course, those kicky caps made by Daniele Wickel of Asheville, who just happens to be our August Gallery Walk Featured Artist. Daniele (danieleodesigns.com) makes neat caps for both men and women and also creates small bags, large purses and her signature star-shaped pillows. In addition to Daniele, we also are celebrating the end of summer with musical guests All Natural Jam and our concoction of the month, School Daze Punch. 40 West Main Street is where you can enjoy all this (and even keep your hat on in the store)! Don't miss us August 23rd.

    Thirsts Successfully Extinguished!

Well, we managed to put out the fire of thirst for Gallery Walkers in our usual fun way. In fact, we even had someone guess the ingredients! Just so you can concoct your own Fire Extinguisher, here's the recipe:

    2 parts limeade
    2 parts lemonade
    1 part peach schnapps

Mix, add ice and enjoy. What could be easier!

Hot, Hot, Hot, July Gallery Walk!

Have we got a Gallery Walk for you! Hunters & Gatherers is excited to introduce our featured artist Moriah Geer-Hardwick who just happens to be the artist who designed Brevard’s cute little cycling white squirrel logo. (He’s also responsible for Hunters & Gatherers’ logo!) Moriah is a free-lance graphic artist and web designer in Brevard where he lives with his wife and daughter. He is employed full time at Earthshine, an outdoor education center near Lake Toxaway.

Our music will once again be provided by Bradilyn Davis: she’s so good! And since her music is hot and so is July, our concoction is going to be the “Fire Extinguisher.” Take your fire truck down to 40 W. Main Street and listen to fiery tunes, quench your thirst and see some great art!

July Hours – Happy 4th of July!!!!!!

    3 cups OJ
    1 cup Pineapple Juice
    1 cup Vodka
    2 cups Cranberry Juice

Thanks everyone for joining in the fun......We'll see you next month, if not sooner.

Fluttery Gallery Walk on the Wing!

Friday, June 28 is going to be one of the most interesting Gallery Walks we've had in a while. Jeff Easley of Asheville, NC is our featured artist. Jeff raises moths and then mounts them in handmade shadowbox frames made from a variety of hardwoods. He promises to bring some of his moths in various stages of development for our edification.

Our featured musician is Brandilynn Davidson with her eclectic mix of old tunes and new. The mystery concoction is just that: a mystery! See if you can guess the ingredients when you stop by any time from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

    GREAT CAVEMAN DEBATE

Okay, for those of you who were there today for the Great Caveman Debate, it was a very close call. My Shell, the Gatherer candidate and Brock, the Hunter candidate had wonderful rock solid platforms. But, by a very small margin, of just 3 votes, the Hunter is our new Clan Leader. Thank you all for those who joined in the fun!!!

    October Witch’s Brew

We didn't have any winners this month for the ingredients of October's Gallery Walk Witches Brew, but here is the recipe.

    1 cup Rum

    No White Wine!!!

Great Pumpkin Coming to Hunters & Gatherers!

Trick or treat? It’s up to you! Our October 26 Gallery Walk is gonna be great! We’re having Brandilyn Davidson back for music and Alice Greko is our Featured Artist. Alice takes beautiful photos and then uses her painting skills to continue the image into the frame. Each tromp l’oeil work is unique.

You can also sniff out Kim’s new line of scented soy candles. Pumpkin Frappuccino, Jack Frost and Roasting Chestnuts are just a few varieties that smell good enough to eat!

As far as truly consumables go, our monthly concoction is sure to set you howling: Great Pumpkin Punch. So get on your broomstick and fly over to Hunters & Gatherers at 40 W. Main Street, Brevard between 5:00 pm and 9:00 pm. Believe me, it will be a treat!
